March 24, 2003, International HapMap Steering Committee Conference Call, 2003
Scope and Contents
A draft outline of the International Declaration on Human Genetic Data prepared by the UNESCO International Bioethics Committee. The document was being circulated around NHGRI for comments. Jean McEwen noted that the draft outline proved her point that community engagement for HapMap had considerable support in the international bioethics community. There is also correspondence with an agenda for a conference call for the International HapMap Steering Committee that included a timetable for SNP acquisition for HapMap, and a report of the HapMap analysis meeting in which the major topic was agreeing on the goal of the project and how that related to the definition of haplotype blocks.
