This collection contains materials created by or belonging to former Associate Director of the Extramural Research Program at NHGRI, Jane Peterson Ph.D. Dr. Peterson retired in 2014 and the files in this collection were accumulated during her 15 year tenure at NHGRI. The bulk of the materials are grant-related, primarily grants funded during the Human Genome Project (1990-2003).

Scope and Contents This collection contains the paper materials of former NHGRI Directors James Watson, Michael Gottesman and Francis Collins, created and accumulated during their respective tenures as Directors of the NHGRI (formerly the NCHGR) from 1990 to 2008. This collection contains a large variety of media materials, including news reports, interviews with staff, press conferences, lab footage, symposia, meetings, and others. Formats include VHS, audio cassette, BetaCam, DVD, CD, and others. The majority of the materials were created during the years of the Human Genome Project (1990-2003) but also include more recent materials.

The SNP Consortium (TSC) was a non-profit research collaboration formed in 1999 to identify, map, and publicly release human genomic markers known as "single nucleotide polymorphisms" (SNPs), funded by pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and information technology companies, along with the Wellcome Trust.

This collection contains files detailing interactions and collaborations between SNP Consortium leadership, namely Arthur Holden, and NHGRI leadership.
